The horn is an Edwards 372 "Fire Horn" Adaptahorn, the small siren as mention is an older L.

Re: Why aren't there more videos of fire horns?

Did the phone crack :P? To my relief, not even a scratch, and yes it landed face down (thank you OtterBox) IMG_2410.JPG Also I got confirmation over on the horn and whistle board, that these horns are indeed Cunninghams, which makes me feel better that I can ID Cunningham horns by site. Also on a s...

Re: Why aren't there more videos of fire horns?

Sorry for the bump, but I finally got around to recording the noon blast of the Cunningham horns atop Wethersfield CT fire company 1 today (9/29/16). The slap like sound before the horns sound, was my phone hitting the sidewalk after I accidentally threw it when I jumped after hearing the horn tones...

Re: Can anyone help

Your Auth horn is a resonating horn, most likely a relabeled Federal 55. Since it's 120VAC you can easily run, and should make the classic NBA scoreboard "air horn" buzzer sound. The Benjamin horn is a vibratory horn, and like the Auth horn can be easily run off 120VAC, but will make a low...

Re: Train Horns - noise info - help please!!!

straight from the Federal Railroad Administration: The maximum volume level for the train horn is 110 decibels which is a new requirement. The minimum sound level remains 96 decibels. https://www.fra.dot.gov/Page/P0889 Like sirens, they're rated @ 100ft If memory serves me right, the AirChime K5LA, ...

Re: Post your Mystery Sirens here.

Not often I get stumped anymore, but this oddball really has me scratching my head. This is at the Kensington FD in the Kensington section of Berlin CT. Best guess, maybe a Federal/Darley 3?

Re: my small sirens

Sorry for the bump, but I made another addition to my small siren collection:

A current style L-110

It spins much quieter than my older L. I'll run it up in the next few days.

Re: Whelen WPS-2910 system in New London, CT

Those are for the Millstone power plant in Waterford. 81 of them scattered through out the 10 EPZ replaced a fairly large (125+) ancient system of various WS 2000s, mostly 2016s in 2009. Not sure if New London does any monthly tests, but near by East Lyme sure does, on the 1st Wednesday of the month...
