thats a sentry or a rare ACA.. of course it would help if we could hear the wind down to be sure..no thanks to the dopy 3 minute straight steady signal cycle....... I still don't get it.. varios rises and falls , multiple cycles would be more effective than a 3 minute 1 cycle, that gets so annoying ...
I never heard a 1000 before.. it's kinda plain. i thought they were all 2 tone model 2 rotors inside. I guess the 1000 is like the "no options" model. The 1003T high low is the best of the model thunderbolts in my opinion.
Thats was bazzar....i'm a huge siren fan, Models 2,3,5,7 and Sd1o but those sirens sounding a little too spacy for even me... ya need to slow down that rotation speed scotty before the t bolt goes into a warp.
The SD10 was yellow about 25 years ago.. somewhere someone painted it gray.. That's going to change real soon though.. It will be red or yellow when the spring comes. As far as the housing on the SD10's. Without that housing the siren would sound "tin"E" , no base. ( think of a speake...
I really love the quality . Yes it came out very good.. it was recorded from 1/4 mile away from the SD10. The problem with most recordings is they are recorded too close to the siren or horn.. If you can see the siren you are way too close, your recorder can't handle it and you don't achive a robus...
Since no one here ever seems to get recordings of the good old sirens , especially SD10's here is one for you guys... Recorded tonight for a 18:00 test. A nice sounding SD10 and if you listen closely you will hear a Model 5 in the background on the wind down.. Also a model 7 at the end of the record...
I like that yellow.. Red would be cool too. It's that boring gray I don't like. Somewhere I have a bulletin from the 1950's on a SD10 and 5T that says all dual tone sirens must be painted yellow for Civil Defense. Althought this rule doesn't apply today I think some still paint sirens yellow because...
thats not someones decale. That's an original thunderbolt paint job. I have seen that red thunderbolt symbol on a few 1970's t bolts.
In the 1950's and early 60's they came with CD on them.
Where have you guys been?
