Re: Yatesville, GA Thunderbolt installation

Oh. Well then I must ask about my thunderbolt 1000. It was installed in Spokane in the 1960s and it has that little "bar" in the port. You know that one in the middle of the port. It currently has a single tone chopper and had it when it served Waldport. The question that just opened up th...

Re: Can you force too much air in a Thunderbolt?

Thank you guys. Bobcat418 I was a little curious about the same thing... I don't know what would happen if you somehow put too much air in it... I guess no one has done it before (thankfully) and I am glad to know i won't be the first to do that. :D Alright now on to saving up for this dang thing...

Re: Can you force too much air in a Thunderbolt?

Oh okay. Like I said I thought I would check and make sure because I know the blower has safety release valves but I didn't think the siren head did. But it's good to know that a shopvac won't over do it. I must ask though is there a way to overpressurize it? (I am asking so I can avoid it.)

Re: Yatesville, GA Thunderbolt installation

Let me guess... Someone put a dual tone chopper in there and it's original was a single tone, or someone didn't put the right label on it...

I think they might have come with them. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they did.

Re: Sterling found in Kalama, WA

The STH-10 is still there last i checked. If the sterling was for the power plant than the city of Kalama owns it just like the rest of the sirens in that area. Longview owns the ones that are in Longview and Kalama owns the ones in Kalama. Now if it was an old fire siren that would be an interestin...

Can you force too much air in a Thunderbolt?

The city I got mine from threw my blower out so I was thinking of getting a 1623 CFM shopvac thing with like 3 speeds and i don't want to blow the siren or something like that. I was thinking of starting at one of the lower speeds on the shopvac and loosely connecting it to a wide pipe thing and fee...
