Re: Post your Mystery Sirens here.

Cool, I didn't notice the truck I'll have to look again. As for the siren the bottom isn't missing. Jackson had 3 of these at one point they all looked the same except the color. The ones at Fire Station 2 and 3 were red and one at the Airport that was a sea green color. The sirens at Station 2 and ...

Re: Post your Mystery Sirens here.

Jackson, MI Fire Station 3 (closed). Look at the siren on the roof. Perhaps a Sparton? The siren is no longer used. It was turned off when the 2001 went up on a pole next to the Fire Station. https://www.google.com/maps/@42.2466606,-84.3824588,3a,15y,229.4h,94.5t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1svlp-wUC4_a08_Wi_...

Re: Richardson, TX to conduct 3-Minute test of siren system

Looks like it will be a 3 minute test of Alert or Attack but not both. Would be cool to see them do both Alert and the Attack for a full three minute cycle. Most everywhere I have been in Michigan for the past few years is a minute or less of Alert on test day.

Re: Michigan Siren Location Maps- A work in Progress

Here is a link to the Jackson County MI, Hazards Plan (PDF). Page 44-45 has a list and map of the 39 sirens controlled by the County. All of the sirens are 2001's with exception to one Thunderbolt and a Model 5 in the system. There are about 6 or so sirens in the out county area not shown which are ...

Re: How sirens integrate into cities

I am the over 50 crowd. Agree about get us riled up when the siren comes down. I grew up in a City with many Thunderbolts. I can tell you most people heard them indoors when the Thunderbolts roared to life. Hearing the sirens outdoor vs. indoor is about siren placement and number of sirens a communi...

Re: Duo-sonic Electronic Vehicle Sirens

I was thinking Southern VP. I had one on an Ambulance I worked in back in the late 70's . The siren had a unique sound which set it apart from the Federal Interceptors.
