Re: The 'permanent' CTI thread

It's not French. Ben Shinn confirmed on Facebook a couple weeks ago that this was indeed a CTI, it was their DC model. Only a few were ever installed.

Re: 5 Abandoned sirens in Dibble. OK

Don't know why I'm here and came across this, but I did.

Those came from Norman, OK's old system. I'm pretty sure all of those were reinstalled and are accounted for in the Dibble/Criner area. Washington got a couple of the 128's as well.

Re: I'm getting a thunderbolt soon, and I need to know a few things.

All it is is two wires...cut the end off an extension cord, wire nut white to white and black to black and you're good. It's not rocket surgery. BTW, chopper level 1 is 120V so a standard wall outlet will be fine. As long as you have everything hooked up right you really have to try to blow somethin...

Re: Can Someone Decipher These Sirens? (Russellville, AR)

The ATI's are part of the Arkansas Nuclear One system. I haven't found any info on Russellville, but I have seen a couple ATI's and 2800's around town in 2013. The Atkins Thunderbolts are from ANO's old system.

Re: The 'permanent' CTI thread

I'd say the only problem is that the dates don't quite line-up (as, according to the picture, it was taken in 2003), unless either the picture is dated wrong or the siren came out earlier than previously thought. It's also possible that it was a "prototype" version that had been installed...

Re: The 'permanent' CTI thread

I'm not sure how many of y'all are actively following this topic, but I figured I would share an interesting observation that someone in the Facebook group pointed out. In 2004, this omni-directional model was introduced. The rounded stator ports bear similarity to contemporary Federal and ASC fare,...
