Re: Solenis - Low Moor (UK) December 2023 - Klaxon ES2S

The thick of night; crazy seeing a siren being tested so late!

Probably my fave electronic-siren tone though!

Re: Mobil Directo in Germany, of all places

Biersach & Niedermeyer: a brand name that itself sounds as though someone could easily mistake it for being of German origin if not for the "Milwaukee WI USA" stamped directly underneath.

Pretty much my ideal alarm clock scenario!

Quite a stout-looking unit there, iron base and all. Congrats, Luke!

Haha yeah, occasionally I still find myself catching the siren bug. :P Blows my mind thinking back, I was still in HS when this thread issued !

So cool to see an old beast be given a new lease on life! Truly admirable the level of dedication you've held out for so many years Jerry!

It looks like one of those fancy citrus-juicers, kinda cool if you ask me.

Re: Rare First Generation SD-10 Found

A band straight in front of the ports can only serve to diminish the output, and I'm sure at least a few on the design team had their doubts. I think more than anything it served to act as a convenient protective ring against nesting critters.

Heh, would've been neat if they instead used that on the ATIs rather than the standard dull ATI beep.

Darn, I never knew they offered the smaller of the single rotors in 8/12! Cool vid!

Re: Port Lambton siren test. CLM?

I'm placing my bets on a CLM or some other British-standard unit made in Canada. Darn, I just looked at the test schedules, what an inconvenient time to venture two hours out of town for. xD
