Same in Toronto

They did the same thing in Toronto a few years back with one of their last remaining sirens. They took it down from the pole but I believe they didn't put it back up. I think it is lower to the ground on a concrete thing now. Does anyone know or have pics of it? http://www.thestar.com/News/article/2...

obviously

It is obviously a giant vacuum cleaner suction kind of thing. You can tell by the tublar trough thing around it to guide the air around. With a giant vacuum cleaner you would still need ear protection

Hi, I don't know how much it costs for the pipe. I just go to a construction site and ask them for the scrap pieces left over. They have all different diameters. I know they have 10". They also had a plastic pipe the size of a manhole cover diameter. Plastic is great because it doesn't rust and...

Hello, It is made from a length of 8 inch plastic waterpipe, around 3 feet long. I drilled a bunch of evenly spaced holes in it. Then I pushed the plastic horns through the holes in the pipe. I used finishing nails as pins to push through the ends of the horns to lock them in. The horns are just kid...

Hi,

Yes I did the exact same thing. For my Model 28 I couldn't use a relay so I used a car starter solenoid switch. I have a box with a timer circuit inside to switch the solenoid on and off to make an attack wail.

Montreal Canadiens

The Montreal Canadiens' siren is an Edwards model 315. They use the siren at the beginning and end of the periods. They sound a horn when their team scores. I noticed that many other teams, especially expansion teams do the opposite. They sound a horn for the periods and sound a siren when their tea...

Diefenbunker

There are lots of pictures on Flickr of Diefenbunker. It is rumoured that they have 3 CLM sirens in their museum. There are two outside so I wonder if the third is inside the bunker? It would also be nice to know if any of them are powered and working. http://www.flickr.com/photo_zoom.gne?id=4968542...
