A thief will steal some, try to sell it, and either get busted... Or quit attempting to steal it and move on to someth...

If I had to guess, in 1942, model 2s, 3s, and 5s would be fairly accurate, as these were the most common fire sirens of the time frame.

Or the LK550TT... All they'd have to do is place a in-stock benchgrinder siren on a powered turntable and add 2 projectors. Would be amazingly effective in municipal use atop medium-rise (5-7 floors) buildings.
