Actually I think that's a HOR Siro-Drone. I had no idea they used capacitor start/run single phase motors either.

That's on pretty much ever ACA siren. It's not a mobile directo stator, just an ACA.

All the Thunderbolt blowers are turned down, the 5M only turns 1750 RPM and it's rated for over 2500. Fastest is the A2/C series which turns 2770, but the blower is capable of 3450 rpm. I've oversped blowers before and it didn't seem any louder. The Bumblebolt in Thomaston has an oversped A1 blower ...

Lightning won't do that to collector rings. That's from excessive amperage. Lightning strikes will ground the motor and blow up the controls. The only damage to the collector rings would be in one small spot. If that siren took a lightning hit to do that much damage to the rings they would have to r...
