People here in TN (well, most of us) love the outdoors and we swim, golf, camp out, etc. If you're away from home and have no clue that the weather has turned bad, wouldn't you want to know that immediately? ... ... If you're outside, then what good is it going to do? ... If you are outdoors, y...

No new sirens. Keep old sirens in use. Sirens cannot be heard in better sound-proofed vehicles with stereos always operating. (Drivers should be able to see threatening weather.) As residential neighborhoods expand, sirens become too far away from the new areas and are not heard inside newer homes w...

What is the purpose of the crossmembers in the horn's mouth? Something added later? Some of the earliest Thunderbolts used these.. err.. bars instead of the mesh you'd expect on them. Can't you see the striped paint? Yes, I see the stripped paint, but what does that indicate? What do these "ba...

Such excellent interesting photos.
But your watermark obsures the stator ports. Must you place it right in the middle?
Glad to see the curved rotor vanes. Ambient light?

Where?
When made?
Wish I could read the name/spec plates.

Are the rotor intake tubes original or later added?

Thank you.

Re: Old New Orleans Thunderbolt Setup

...I turned my head back and saw (at this point very excited) that the one box was an open RCM1 panel. I couldn't find any other signs relating to a Thunderbolt having been there, but one definitely was. Wow! Amazing that you would discover it, and then also suspect what it was. Neat find. Is that ...

...How much cancellation occurs when you have two sources of an identical frequency? Seems this would be.tter if it had reflectors enclosing the stators, much like the Federal Signal 550AT, especially since it rotates. If the rotors open and close in perfect synchronization, I'm sure the waves woul...

Dual stator but single tone? Their intent was to build a single-tone siren with more power, I guess - hence the two separate rotors. Thanks.
