That is a HOR Super Sirex, it does rotate (unless the rotator is broken as appears to be common with them as they age) and is available in both dual tone and single tone. They are really, really big too!

Eric, Information comes from Barbara Emrich of ASC, for reference I don't think it would be cheaper and easier to produce the ACA fiberglass horn. The thinking at the time was on thier end, I don't know anything about making fiberglass or forming molds or anything else. It was also thought that the ...

Anyway, that squarehorn really resembles the T-bolt. No wonder Federal sued ACA for that, so they churned out that round-horn thingymgbob *Sigh* You are misinformed.... Federal never sued anyone for anything....the Hurricane came out first.... square as a matter of fact. Federal copied that from ACA...

Yes, the way to tell dating on a Federal siren is to look at the serial number. The first two numbers show the year it was produced, like my Model 2T is serial number 77BXXXXXX... so my siren was made in 1977.

I present for your approval, a 12 Port Model 5 at the Middle Road Fire Department in Indiana Twp, Pa. It was about 7 feet off the ground and was quite scary to look at knowing that it was still hooked up.

You know, looking at that thing... that rear horn bracket is ACA all the way. The rotating Alertonic series use this horn bracket/speaker driver holder, never seen a Whelen with that design... but I have never seen a 3016 or the 4008.

Keep em coming brother, always love to see the sirens from out your way! I am surprised that you haven't posted the siren from Windber yet.... first time I have seen that kind of siren in any color other than gray. If you don't know where it is (which I am sure is not the case), it is on the old fir...
