Wish Cincinnati wasn't so far away. Would love to come hear them in person. Wasn't to sure what the dB was on this siren so I got a little closer that usual. Actually thought it was a DSA. Learn something new everyday :D There is one more of these in town that we have found. Might try to catch it on...

Got into a little verbal tif with a lady that lives next door to it, but not the first time I had to try to explai...

Potter and Randall Counties which include the city of Amarillo use only alert for tornado/storm warnings. Wish they would do the attack though. Bet it would sound cool with all the different types of sirens here.

This was in Amarillo in June 2008. There are 2 Cyclones (although it sounds like one). They sound so much like P-50's. This guy and his family are kind of freaking out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ce-kxLKgLM&NR=1 Dad shot a video at our house that same day of the tornado. There is a 2001 two...

We were wondering when the siren is running, does it take all it's power from the batteries or does it run from say a transformer leaving the battery charge for backup should power fail? The wind was really blowing during the test but we could tell the pitch change as it went around. Curious! The wi...

Ok, a question that Kyle (KDK) has asked and I can't find an answer for. Hope someone can help. What does SRNB stand for and why did FS name them "2001" ? It seems that most siren designations stand for something but we just can't figure out the 2001 or the SRNB. Thanks for any help. Ben (...

It looks like some the the blower pipe is PVC, at least at the base near the blower.

Amarillo has Cyclone's, SD-10's, 2T22's Thunderbolts, 2001's, Modulators, at least one Banshee, STL-10's. We have videos of most of them on our youtube sight, http://www.youtube.com/user/kdksiren . There was a post that there is a P-50 here too, but I checked with EMS and they say there isn't one on...
