I swear we have every single Whelen tone card ever made here. The 460's 560's and 710's sound really cool together. The 440 heard here is a bit dissonant, but very bassy!

Quoting is kind of a b*tch since I'm on my iPod, but to add to what I said earlier about cutoff frequency, when I ran my 1000 with no blower, you could hear the chopper until right about 128Hz. Then the sound just disappeared. Like a light switch really.

All the cone in the middle of the 2001 does is form an exponential horn profile around an annulus using a linearly curved horn. I'm gonna have to agree with the low pitch thing. My 1000, even with a smaller air source, and even when pointed 90 degrees from my neighbor's house handily drowned out the 2001 less than 1/4 mile away. He was in his basement, TV was on.
