I'm not really scared of sirens anymore. I was terrified of them through about the 4th grade, then I started getting into the old board and airraidsirens.com, and got to know them better. Fast forward to today, and I am not scared at all of most sirens. I own a Thunderbolt 1000, and I sit under it t...

The 40V2T is a 10/15, and on the next windup, you can just faintly make out the 8/16 in the 10V2T or whatever it is. The 10 port and 8 port tones are interfering, and the 16 port tone is very hard to hear since the siren is such a long distance away. Just my .02, and the windup on the 10V2T is way t...

Mankato has both varieties, the 440's are hilltop's and the 560's seem to be downtown. It is a very eerie sound for sure!

Given how much operation a siren sees, my hot-rodded snowblower probably uses more gas, and if I can't afford that, well I guess I'm screwed given how much snow we've had here! No offense, but our FSAE engine on the dyno here at school (KTM 525 turbo) costs WAY more to run than even a Wisconsin V4, ...

I used to be scared stiff of lakeville's 1000T's, and later the 9/12 screamer at my elementary school. My stomach would shoot to my throat when they went off. Now it's just like, "oh yeah, first Wednesday!" and when I set the BumbleBolt off I do it myself! Some say I'm a little weird, whet...

Are you planning on running it with a CNC machine or manually?
I can't freaking wait. I love this kind of thing and my Dad still thinks the mini-T was spectacular, he'll flip when he hears about this!

For the port ratios on sirens, simply listen to the audio to discern the 2 tones separately, then find their values in Hz. Multiply the tone by 60 to get pulses per minute, then divide by motor RPM, usually 3450 or 3600 for synchronous motors. T-Bolts are a bit different. I can always tell the 5 por...

After watching that video I makes me wonder again about guys, who as soon as they get a 1000 Thunderbolt, start throwing fits about finding a dual tone chopper for it. Yeah the dual tones are cool, I love both models, but it just doesn't seem to me like they have same vwoooop and punch as a 1000. M...

I remember the old warningsirens.org board, just never joined! I still can recall not knowing anything about HLS sirens, and once we got some German guys on here it was found to be unlike anything we'd ever seen before! I still remember the pre YouTube days of waiting forever just to hear a recordin...
