You've got a point there... I think even a regularly timed Attack signal would give the siren long enough breaks as to not burn out the motor while its running. I wonder, if I ran it on 6 volts, would it prolong the life of the motor?
I love the sound of the Foster siren, but it's pitch could've been higher and louder if the steam was at higher pressure. There is a video of someone running one off of a compressed steam pipe, it reached the pitch of a 12 port siren.
Actually, I did some searching and remembered Mrscientificsasuke burned the motor on his, so I'm going for those gray ones, and I found one I can afford and being sold my metro2001. All my mother needs to do is approve of it.

I found a little chrome siren on Ebay ( one of those red ones chrome-plated...) and it's a 12v. I can afford it and was wondering how many amps these pull.
