The horn on a 2001 is exponential, look at the profile of the port channels and the curve on the motor cover. Now, I wonder why there are so many brushes on the collector ring. There are a bunch of wires coming together into 2 large ones. Is amperage a big concern? I know it pulls a lot of DC amps....
