What's going on with that upper bearing? It looks like there is some type of thick washer stuck in there between the bearing and the top nut. That shouldn't be there. Also it looks like the upper bearing nut lock ring is gone. Was there one on there when you removed the bearing. It's the thin flat ...

I already replaced the top bearing, and my buddy, who works for an electric motor company, advised me against taking it apart, he said innards are too fragile for it.

You are lucky it is just paint. I forgot to take the ID tag off of my siren before having it sand blasted. I refined my artwork one last time so that the lightning bolt can be seen inside the letters and to do away with any other extraneous objects that would block the yellow paint. The yellow background is just so that I could confirm that everything that should be transparent was. Thanks to all of you...
