Post Photos of Siren ID Tags Here!

Not sure if there's a thread for this already; a forum search revealed nothing. So as the title suggests, post photos of any ID tags that you have, and mention what siren they're from. Might be helpful for gathering information! To start, here's the tag from my Model A, which dates to around 1940 I ...

Re: SONGS former hand built siren FOUND!!!!!!!!

According to the spec sheet, the official name for it is the POW Model 120.

This thread is awesome, by the way. It's what I come to this site to see. Can't wait to hear what the siren sounds like.

Re: What kind of Sirens have you seen?

I'm weird in that I have a life list of sirens saved on my computer (kinda like bird-watching, but with sirens, haha), so all I gotta do is copy and paste: Seen: ACA Cyclone 125 ACA Screamer ASC Tempest-121 ASC Tempest-128 ATI HPSS32 Cooper WAVES HPSA-8108-R Darley Champion (horizontal) Darley Champ...

Denver Siren Found in Highland, NY

Check this out! I drove past this the other day. I literally had no idea it (and the old Model 5 next to it) existed despite my extensive map of the county (Ulster; check the link in my signature), so I was pretty hyped to find it. I think it's the old Highland fire house. The new one has a recentl...

Re: My New W.S. Darley Champion Siren

Wow, nice! I don't know if anyone else owns one of these yet. I didn't know they were only 1.5HP. I'd guess it'd be on about the same level as the Little Giant. Can you make out the "Type" on the ID plate? To me it looks like 4 A 3/4 U. Not sure what that means. You got this from Clintonda...

Re: HOR siro-drone in the NY area

Ah yes, I found a couple of those recently. Here's one of them. The Model 5 has been removed since that street view was taken, but you can see how much it dwarfs the Siro-Drone. Were there different sizes? I remember hearing that it was 5HP, but the ones I've seen look too small.

Re: Great resource for NC (and SC) siren hunting

Good stuff. You can also usually find fire district maps by county, which often have station locations on them. That's my primary method of finding sirens, since most east coast sirens are found at fire stations.

Re: Sterling vs. Darley 3V8

I know what a Sterling 2V8 is, but they also made a 3V8 (prior to the Sentry model), which Darley sold a modified version of (kinda like they did with the Model X series). I was wondering how you can tell the difference. What did Darley change on the siren?

Sterling vs. Darley 3V8

So I see quite a few of these around, but there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of information on them. What is the difference between a Sterling 3V8 and a Darley 3V8? I have a few photos to accompany this question. This one has 8 ports and a single cone on top. BloomingtonFDBinnewaterSta..JPG I'm pr...

Re: Vintage siren photos thread

Found this old picture of the Hillcrest Fire Dept. in Binghamton, NY. I have no idea what the siren is. Perhaps a Model 5 or something with a custom housing. Now they have a newer station with a Model 2. https://scontent-iad3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/420622_10150598474409094_1472332679_n.jpg?oh=3dce5...
