Thank you for clarifying your first post. I did in fact see the video, a couple of times. Something people have to remember is that this is a newscast. They are reporting just what they are told or find out through research. From seeing the news report, it would seem to me that the other siren, the ...

That's funny it just shows what kind of era we live in where the governmen't $$$ dries up and the taxpayer is left to foot the bill to replace some already worn out overpriced electronic speaker junk that was partially responsable for the demise of alot of good working order electromechanical siren...

I believe there are more than a few yellow 2001's out there. I've seen a couple on the siren archives. I think there is also a grey and red one possibly that I've seen on the archives. Here are the photos of Romeoville's yellow 2001, yellow control boxes and all: http://www.jmarcoz.com/sirens/romeov...

Nice find on those photos. As far as the unknowns, number 3 appears to be some kind of Hormann siren in a foreign country. The China-Alarm siren looks like a copy, with slight differences of a ACA Alertronic siren (thanks 40V2T22) here: http://www.jmarcoz.com/sirens/oakridge_tn.jpg Also, the "C...

Great map there Matt. Seeing that you labeled the map Delaware County, are there more sirens in Delaware County besides being in Muncie? If so, are they all controled via the EMA office in Muncie?

That is one of the best videos I have seen in awhile. The echo from the whoop is amazing, almost making the hairs on your back stand up. When the 2805's do the whoop by me, it's not that pronounced. I'm sure the directional concentration and the dBc rating have a lot to do with that. Travis, do you ...

Nice video. The 2805 definitely gives a nice, booming, low tone. The 2805's that are tested in my old town, they start off without a warning in "whoop" and then finish with an anouncment that it was only a test and that the test has been concluded. These sirens sound in "whoop" f...

Yep, you are indeed right. The NWS came out and confirmed. Note the first listing of severe weather reports from the link below: http://www.spc.noaa.gov/climo/reports/yesterday.html As far as sounding sirens when funnel clouds are reported, I know Indianapolis has gotten into some trouble with doing...

Hmm, no tornado reports so far today. It might have been straight line wind damage instead though. They appear to be more of the line nature, verses the individual celled thunderstorms (supercells) that are more commonly associated with tornadoes. There are many high wind reports listed through Ohio...
