Re: Broken rotator 2001 and 508

Is the 2001 a newer 2001? If so, then it likely has the brushing issue

Re: Thunderbolt 1000T 6 PM Blast 9-21-19

If I recall correctly, the last 2 digits of the serial number signify the year of installation. If so, then this siren was installed in 1956 and usds a 6M series A1 blower. Of course, the owner could have very easily gotten a different blower for it.

Definitely 10/12. There's just something so unique and harmonic about that ratio.

That siren has actually been struck by lightning several times. It's a miracle it even works at all

Re: FS 508 - Greenfield, IN

I was wondering if they were in full service yet. I will probably record one over the summer. It’s nice to see some 508s in central Indiana, as opposed to just 2001s. (Not that 2001s aren’t great sirens...it’s just nice to have a bit of variety.)

Re: Sirens right next to interstate highways

One of Columbus Ohio’s 4004s is right off of I-270 Eastbound. There is also a Werden P-127, off of I-70 Eastbound in Englewood. I unfortunately do not have any picture of these sirens.

Re: EOWS...

Are there any active 408s or 812s left in existence?

Re: What is your favorite port combination on a siren?

DEFINITELY 7/10 port and 10/12 port. 7/10s sound so eerie, and 10/12 ports have a very harmonic, musical sound to them.
