Siren Acoustics

Ok I need to get something cleared up. From what I hear at the point where 2 siren ranges meet you get a 3 dB gain. My question is does this keep increasing when you have more than 2 sirens overlaping? (i.e.) like when you have 3 sirens overlaping it would be a 6dB gain?

ATI's have no wind up or wind down during alert. They do provide all of the standard tones including wail (attack). Still I wouldn't call an ATI a siren but it still serves a life saving purpose. Whelen's always provide a wind-up/down during alert, wail, and attack (fast wail). Hi/lo, whoop, and air...

The new 2900 and 4004 series sirens sound a 560 hz pitch. The 560hz was determined to be in the sweet spot for the amplifiers for the WPS2900 and produced greater decibel levels for the WPS2900. The Vortex and other tone only Whelens remain at 455 hz range.

Sounds like an older model WPS 2910. The tone is too low for 2800 series.

During the monthly test next Saturday, weather permitting, I will be video taping from downtown, which is located slightly over a mile from several siren locations but still with in the 70dB zone of the VortexR-4. The sirens are very audible from there, and gives you an idea of the whelen acoustics ...

Tullahoma Siren System New Map

Here is the map for the Tullahoma Siren System on Google Maps. Tullahoma has 6 Whelen Vortex sirens in the city limits and 1 at Motlow State Community College which is located just outside of town (this siren location is not included in the map). The sirens cover most of the city in 70 dB. The city ...

The sirens here in Tullahoma are all located on city owned land, although most of them are located less than 100 ft from houses, the only exception being the unit located in a city park. The sirens here aren't in usual locations like schools, fire stations, or city hall, in fact the nearest sirens t...

Not surprising, a tornado tone system. It's a shame they went for ATI, being the closest working sirens to me (excluding my campus's once-used Mod). Coulda recorded some sirens! Nashville isn't the closest working siren system to you in Chattanooga. Lots of Counties and Cities throughout Middle Ten...

From what I have heard New York City has Federal Modulators installed still around ground zero? There were also sirens sounding on September 11th 2001 in a video I saw from that day in a documentary. Somebody who knows more please share.
