Re: Federal Signal STH-C

Could that maybe just be a 3t22 someone chopped in half? No, highly unlikely. The intake for the STH-10 is much larger in diameter than those used on the 3T22, and this one definitely appears to have the normal size intake for a STH-10, except with the addition of a solenoid-actuated butterfly valv...

Re: Interesting...

Just wondering. Is it possible to fit a 3T33 intake onto the STH-10? No. The tubing diameter for the STH-10's intake is way bigger than the 3T22's intake, plus the flange sizes (the part that bolts up to the stator) are completely different between the two sirens' intakes as well. In other words, t...

Re: Federal Signal STH-C

While I'm fairly certain none have been found still up and/or in service to date, here are some photos of one that was for sale on eBay several years ago. This is the only one I have ever seen though but I have a feeling there may be a few out there that nobody has come across yet. Best I can tell t...

Re: T-128 Rotation Question

Yes, they have a potentiometer on the control board that varies the output voltage to the rotator motor to control rotation speed. I'm not sure if it's still set up the same way on the newer RTU controller since I haven't personally seen one yet, but that's how they had the rotator control set up on...

Me thinks Ian was talking to VAsirens.
Indeed I was. I had initially thought of quoting his post but I didn't want to clutter things up with a massive quote so I just generally replied. Sorry about the confusion!

Re: The "Various Sirens" series and others

I have a bunch of locations for central, south-central, and southwestern GA that I can give you for the map, as well as some updated info on some others in the area. I'll dig through my maps from those areas tomorrow and update them to fill in any missing ones I haven't gotten around to adding yet, ...

Re: Post your Mystery Sirens here.

The Swainsboro siren is an old Fedelcode Model 7 (circa late 1920s) missing the lower part of its housing. I think they had it down at one point fairly recently to give it an overhaul, but the housing has been missing for a long time prior to that. They also moved it up to the top brace when they re...

Re: East Texas sirens

All of Longview's old sirens (mostly Thunderbolts along with two P-50s) were replaced with 2001-130s within the last few years. I remember seeing some of their old Thunderbolts and possibly one P-50 in a lot up for auction maybe a year or two ago, including one Thunderbolt that I distinctly remember...

Re: Central Florida & Surrounding Siren Dicussion

While I was in the St. Pete area on our annual vacation last week, I was able to go into downtown and snap a few good photos of the old Thunderbolt on the Municipal Services Building from two different angles. I wish I had gotten the chance earlier on into the trip to get in touch with the city to a...
