Sounds a bit like the fire horns in my home town. When Thunderbolts were being sold, Ukraine was still part of the Soviet Union, and they would not have invested in an American-made siren system any more than an American town would have purchased a Russian-made S-40 siren.

The last time I drove through Stevenson, the horn was facing in a different direction. By the 1980’s, those units were gone from public schools in Oregon, but most schools still had Model A-sized sirens in the hallways that were used as fire alarms.

Fast wail was invented for the 2001 series and, as far as I know, not a feature of the AR/AF series. Many older sirens cannot react fast enough for fast wail to make a distinct signal.

The fire signal on most AF timers was five cycles of attack, but could be ordered in other configurations. I configured mine to sound three cycles of 12 seconds on and 8 seconds off.
