Re: ASC E-Class Locations

UConn has 2 3 array units installed on the main Storrs campus (wouldn't surprise me if there's at least one more hidden in the center of the camups). These are the only ASC system of any type in CT (that I know of).

Re: Do fire stations regularly test their sirens?

Up here it depends on the town. Some eliminated daily tests do to complaints but still continue to sound them for calls, some still do a daily test at either noon or 6 pm plus sound for calls, some only sound a daily test but don't sound for calls. Than you have towns like Glastonbury CT, which not...

Re: my small sirens

I tested the B9 and the A this afternoon. Both run like a champ, but the B9 tipped over and knocked stuff off my dresser do to the motor torque thanks to the base (I'm going to mount it on a block of wood). The A didn't move, but my downstairs neighbor was less than thrilled (had no idea he was hom...

Re: 2T22 noon test: Chester CT

I've always wondered too as that thing carries through out the area. I've heard it about 5 miles away, on a cold winter morning sounding for a call. The 2905+VisuAlert I recorded yesterday is also about 2 miles up the road from the factory, which I'm sure they can hear as well. But than again Cheste...

2T22 noon test: Chester CT

I went back down to southern Middlesex County and decided to go to the Chester Hose Co for their 2T22's noon blast. Now when I 1st pulled up the the firehouse there was a public works employee weed whacking but after I circled the block, he finished and I had the lot to myself. This is the last rema...

2905+VisuAlert Chimes: Deep River CT

Original plan was to head down to East Lyme CT to record one of Millstone's 2910s. Well insomnia kicked in big time last night, so I opted to sleep in a bit, and head to Deep River and try my luck hoping the rain would hold off. Valley Shore Communications actually had a dispatcher on that wasn't la...

Re: my small sirens

Nice collection there! Any idea on age for the F326? It can be seen on the ad from 1923: I have no idea on the age of the F326, but that ad does give me an idea. I tested the B9 and the A this afternoon. Both run like a champ, but the B9 tipped over and knocked stuff off my dresser do to the motor ...

my small sirens

Starting last year I added some small sirens to my collection. Here's the small but growing "hoard": L-110: runs, but has an extremely noisy bearing http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y169/warningsignalmuseme/IMG_2112_zpsybvflswx.jpg Sterling F326: Haven't run it yet, stiff when hand spun, r...

Re: Anyone know where these sirens in Connecticut that I'm referring to are?

That could have been in Montville, on the shore by Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun Casinos. There's a video of their 3T22B doing 2 cycles of attack mounted on top of a 5, and at the time they had a WS 2016 for Millstone, which has been replaced by a 2910. o6srpQIjQ3s Montville's other station, Chesterfield...
