Re: CT outdoor warning signal map

Did a very small update to the map. Found an active Fedelcode 5 in Eastford (Windham County), added some additional info on Milford's 2805 system (New Haven County) thanks to one of my wife's cousin's, found 2 ex CT Yankee sirens in Colchester (Tolland County), and re-discovered what I thought was a...

Re: CT outdoor warning signal map

Winthrop Station's WPS-2905 didn't go off at noon last Saturday. I had my scanner tuned to 46.18, and over that frequency I heard tones and a pre-test announcement. I'm thinking it either failed or the siren is (or was?) activated over a different frequency. Big disappointment, but at least I got t...

I believe it does, not 100% on that (I don't see why it wouldn't). Only one I know does for sure is the one at the Winthrop Station.

Re: CT outdoor warning signal map

Sorry for the bump but I've finally updated the map to include most of Windham County (that I know of), Colchester, the Cobalt section of East Hampton, the last 2 remaining in Old Saybrook , Chesterfield FD in Montville, and a few Millstone locations. I still need to pin down more of those. Next upd...

Re: Why aren't there more videos of fire horns?

It looks like condensation that was built up being purged just prior to them sounding, if you have a humid day they will build up the condensation pretty well. That's exactly what it was. There's vents on the back of the speaking chamber of Diaphones which is why you see what puff of condensation. ...

Re: Why aren't there more videos of fire horns?

I think I like your 2 videos you shared here more than any of your others LOL, I have a very soft spot in my heart for those diaphragm horns and boy do they sound good from a distance! Do you have plans to get a closer recording of those diaphragm horns from a bit closer by chance?? Can my friend &...

This is the same video that once had audio of my Super Sirex video in it. Conveniently when I reported it the user removed the video trying to avoid a copyright strike.

Re: Sirens in Las Vegas/Nevada

Clark County has no active sirens to my knowledge (correct me if I'm wrong). There are a few long deactivated Thunderbolts scattered around, most famously one right on top of McCarran international airport.

VT Yankee ASC-T-128 final test: Northfield MA

I made the 85 mile (one way) trip with my wife to Northfield MA to record the final VT Yankee T-128 system test. This one is located at the FD. This was my 1st time hearing a T-128 in person, and the 1st actual siren test video on my new camcorder (Sony Handycam FDR-AX33). I apologize for the shaky ...

Re: VT Yankee's final siren test

There is also one at the Northfield, Mass Fire Department, they used to have a yellow STH-10 there which was mounted on a mount that looks suspiciously like a Thunderbolt mounting set up, The STH-10 and platform was later taken down and just the T-128 remained. http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d10...
