Re: Dublin, Ohio, Whelen WPS-2805

Dublin has mostly 2750s in their system, a couple of 2805s, and within the last 2 years they've installed several 2905s. I can actually see a 2750 and a 2905 from the window behind me at work. This siren is very likely a 2750. Also within the last couple of years, Dublin has replaced most if not all...

Re: Damaged Tornado Sirens in Moore: Photos

With a system that dense and a tornado that large, I guess it's no surprise that 1/4 of the sirens were touched by the tornado. Slightly off topic, but I'm wondering if the crappiness of the Mods depends on the controller; MCP vs UltraVoice. In the popular video taken on the south side of Southmoore...

Re: May 20th - Moore, OK

Moore sounded its 36 tornado sirens three times before the tornado hit, according to its Facebook page. In three postings on the page, the city warned residents the sirens were sounding and said to take shelter and precautions. Moore didn’t activate its “code red” mass notification system, said Jay...

Re: New Whelens for Franklin County, Ohio

I believe you can see 3 or so new Whelen 2905s west of Dublin from 33. And yes, some of them are spaced rediculously close together. I work in Dublin and I can see 2 of them out my window. I'm still waiting on the new Whelen to show up on 23 north. Side note: There are a few new sirens that showed u...

I just noticed that they posted a manual for this new siren. Its kinda cool that they went with curved horns inside the cells.

I have to ask where ASC and ATI are getting their output ratings for their sirens. If they've proven in the field that they're underperforming, can they really market their products as having a 126 to 128db rating? Is this just another pi**ing contest perhaps?

N. High St. and Highbluffs eh? That should cover my neighborhood.

I've seen a couple of new sirens off of I-270 in Hilliard too; the one mentioned before on Hayden Run Rd. and another one on Fisher Rd. visible just west of I-270.
