Ok, thank you, but are you sure this is something that would happen daily, even hourly, even multiple times in an hour? Is that normal?

ATI question

As you may have seen me mention, my university uses a system of 4 ATIs. For weeks now, I've been hearing, multiple times per day, a roughly two-second long "pop" or "squeak" sound from the siren closest to my dorm. I only realized it was coming from the siren in the first place l...

Thanks for the info. Remember, I'm on the good side of the head of public safety ever since I asked about the siren system during orientation, so I suppose I do stand a chance at getting them, though I might have a bit of difficulty getting them to you...

I have more to report! This is Kutz Hall: http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x281/Soma753/DSC05055.jpg http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x281/Soma753/DSC05053.jpg Notice that it looks like it should have an all-glass exterior, what with all the panels, but most of them are blacked out? And notice t...

These are almost a year old. I wonder if her opinion has changed since then.

It's because of attitudes like this that my town's volunteer fire department stopped the daily noon test and no longer uses the sirens for fire calls at night.

HOR is the name of the manufacturer. I believe it stands for Hear Our Roar. They've been out of business for a very long time now, and were most famous for the Super Sirex, a large two-headed siren that also rotates.

That is an A.C.A. Banshee, or as I like to call it, the Hat Siren!

Without a doubt, I would say Farmingdale and East Farmingdale. The former has an A.C.A. Screamer and the latter has a Thunderbolt 1003 in great working order. Not so sure about how often either is tested, though.

Thank you both. That would certainly be annoying in a fire drill. And if I was going to get one during demolition, it would certainly go to someone else on this board, because I have no personal interest in collecting fire alarms...

Ok, now that I know how to upload photos from iPhoto to Photobucket...what on earth is this? I found it in a building that dates back to 1957 and is to be demolished in a few months.
