That has to be at least two miles away.......not good coverage-wise indeed.
Your using Audacity for noise reduction makes for a great recording. The coastdown IMO really isn't out of the usual for this model. I've heard similar ones.

M-10 "in the Wild": Here's a NICE YT Attack Mode c

Well, it seems I had things grossly confused from my Fedelcode posting. The Sterling M-10 I spoke of is in this YT clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IgpUsKyW-lY The confusion was in the fact that the Federal siren in this community is similar in windup to the other one. Anyway, this siren's cycle...

@JasonC:
Thanks. I didn't realize Fedelcodes could sound as different from Federals as my ears led me to believe.

YouTube recording: Sharpsburg FD Siren: What is this one?

Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-sfn1NDHWJI&feature=related I honestly don't think that it's a Federal/Fedelcode 3/5/7. It's a bit too nasal in timbre. It reminds me of a YT vid of a failed xT22 sounding that turned into an ambiance recording of a nearby MARS model. Could this be another MA...

that reminded me a lot of the classic "on the hill" recording from the 1st siren contest, which for those of you who maybe new and never heard it, featured an 8 port 5 and a 2T22 sounding for a fire call. An applaud from me to you for helping me recall that one. It's my favorite type of s...

I could've sworn it was an xT22 with a blocked upper intake. I even tried to squint at the siren in the vid.
The sonic resemblance is uncanny.

Someone from ASC or Sentry better hire this cat right now.

*Plywood?!?*

:D

I wonder what the dB output was.

Just seems to me a weeping shame that you catch a lotta flak for something that's beyond your control. You made good hay with your video, anyway...I just wish OKC decided to go more along the electro-mechanical route. ;)

She sounds a bit underpowered.
I can't speak for the timbre, tho. A bit throaty/congested perhaps?

Doesn't Missouri have an abundance of Whelens?

This sounds like one.

I'm almost sure it's not a Modulator.
