Great sound indeed; but 90% of the time the windups to those models are hella slow.

I lost count of how many cycles it ran simply coz I was marveling at how long the overall signal lasted.

Somewhat unusual for attack, no?

Agreed.

Shenanigans on the vid editor's part.

Sounds a tad high-pitched...and the lower tone doesn't seem to have that 2:1-port ratio-like buzzing sound that can be heard in Cyclones and older T135's.

I vote Soundmaster, unless someone here from the town in question or thereabouts can prove otherwise.

Guess whose video got a fave review from me courtesy of YouTube's new ratings system. IN all seriousness this is the best true audio/visual siren experience I've ever come across. Signage close-ups, powerlines, ominous cloud formations, oh my. I also like how you applied the hexagons to your themati...

I've heard several by now; and each one has that hi-pitched drone...except for one in a video that featured it going off quite a distance away.

I did read form the Federal website re the siren's description that there was supposed to be a dual-toned quality to it, but not per se. I think what we're hearing is just that. There's a very high pitch similar to the ringing that goes on in one's ears that accompanies the siren's actual tone. This...

Maybe it is a Mars. Someone recorded audio of one of those while trying to catch an xT22 and that sounded similar to this. Can't vouch for the housing, though.

PS: I should've mentioned that the Princeton WI Decot (plus another in a town called Delavan in the same state) sounds on a one-of-a-kind major 6th. Decots elsewhere have the 5th chord.
Just thought I'd mention that if I sent you on a GOogle search.

I think this was discussed elsewhere on this forum and the prevailing guess seemed to be a Decot. As you know, very few models do the major fifth thing: Sentry 40V2T's are too slow on the windup, so you're right there. Soundmasters and SuperBanshees seem to have a limited use area primarily in the u...
