This thread reminds me; at the very beginning of the movie Forrest Gump where it show's the leaf or whatever blowing around; you catch a glimpse of a Thunderbolt on a very tall building in the background near the right of the screen.

I always wondered were the beginning of the movie was filmed at.

Just this little thing right here. Not an outdoor warning device (but could alert others around you if you need help in an emergency). Yep, it's mechanical and pretty loud for it's size. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v499/yuandrew/sirens/SirenFlashlight.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v499...

It is hard to tell the difference in when the siren is wailing but the start up has a raspy tone to it that give away the fact that it's electronic vs the smooth wind up of a mechanical Q I've seen a EQ2B on a fire truck from I think it was West Covina. I was over at the Diamond Bar City hall while ...

I know how you feel; I used to be scared commercial (flushometer type) toilets. The loud noise they make and the sudden action was what starteled me the most; I always covered my ears and used my foot to flush the toilet. Eventually, I got used to the noise and most pressure activated toilets have g...

I found a somewhat hard to read map on Huntington Beach's city website. They made it small but I was able to get two addresses on it. Try 16221 Gothard, 5891 Heil, or near the corner of PCH and Warner. http://www.ci.huntington-beach.ca.us/Residents/News_Publications/Community_Connection/july05/siren...

They are easy to find. Take the 10 freeway East and exit at Azusa (next to the Hummer dealer). Go south a little and make a right on E. Garvey Ave then follow it through a neighborhood and around a few curves. The 1st T-bolt is located on a small hill at the corner of Lark Ellen and Garvey As for th...

In the first thread about spinning it manually, Adam Pollak already showed us the "bloody finger" photo along with the quote "keep your fingers out of the ports" Now all you need to do is find some hearing protection and carefully wind it up to full speed (or at least as f...

No, they haven't been used since 1988. I did go by the first siren on the street below one time on the way to the Westfield mall and I noticed the electrical meter had been removed and the wireing to the power pole disconnected so it definately has been deactive for a long time. One person I know in...
