Nice video. Lansing tests seem to be getting shorter and shorter. I grew up in Lansing when the T-bolts (most placed in service in the mid-60's) were tested in Alert and Attack and the testing would last a good 3 to five minutes. BTW, where did you see the mods? I know of one on the parking ramp at ...
josh555, On a light tower by an Athletic field (not the CMU Football Stadium) on the Eastside of Old 27. south of Broomfield. I don't think the field is there anymore. This was back in the 80's. Might not have actually been on Campus I don't know the actual boundary of CMU. On a different note, Remu...
I go thru Grand Ledge every couple of months. The Allertor at the Fire Station usually is in a different direction every time I pass thru. I've never been by the building mounted one. As posted above Grand Ledge has some 2001's also.
josh555, Interesting one is still standing. The three locations I remember seeing them were Downtown Mount Pleasant, South end of Old 27 by CMU, and by the Road Commission Garage going West out of town on M-20.
Jackson County, MI. Tests are first Saturday of the month at noon or shortly after in one minute of alert. I noticed the Allertronic in Rolling Meadows still has its old Hurricane blower pipe on the side of the building its mounted on. Also yes I also heard there used to be a few Hurricanes in Berrien county MI for Cook's plant Yes, Berrien County had them. I seen them many times from I-94 when going to...
josh555, I have seen those or similar in Michigan a very long time ago. Glen Arbor FD (near Traverse City) had a setup close to that back in the late 60's. I actually heard a noon blast on it which was a single ear piercing tone. Saw close to the same you have pictured around Mt. Pleasant, MI in the...
I like how you need to press exit to clear the alert. I am assuming that is on the cable feed. Here in Michigan when Comcast does an EAS alert the cable box will lock and the message will scroll the alert. After scrolling the alert programing will resume. So if you are out of the room you may miss t...
