Re: The United Kingdom Had German Sirens??

I contacted Hormann, unfortunately their response was that they haven't kept records that date to the 70s after reshuffles and configurations of the company throughout the years. But they did however send me a PDF brochure from the 80s (because of course there's an IBM PC in it!) which is as far as ...

Re: The United Kingdom Had German Sirens??

I dunno, we only had a system of Carters, Klaxon Signals and Castle-Castings and maybe single-tone Klaxons here and there but not Hormann mechanical sirens. There's another thread elsewhere on the forum on this matter. Apparently Greenwich has a factory fire nearby Blackwall Tunnel, and had a siren ...

Re: ASC's website has been redone.

T-135 is bigger and louder than the T-128, and appears slightly different. I honestly thought the T-135 was the modern P-50. The original T-135 was. That one was called the T-135-AC originally. The current one is called the T-135-AC/DC, but really only puts out 132 dB rather than 135. The P-50 was ...

Re: Modulator in Cairo, Egypt

Yes, Google Maps has other pictures nearby the museum from other users who are on Google+. Unfortunately there is little on their 360 views. I like the colour the Modulator is in, though. I am a little curious on what it is used for, now. Does Cairo have more than just one Modulator dotted around th...

Re: Sirens in Switzerland

Looks very much like a Modulator or one of those LRADs.

Re: Japanese PA announcement and siren with interesting damper

PoHd68R6sZA Encountered this while watching other siren videos around Japan. You can hear the pager in the background and the siren starts around the 2min 05sec mark. I like how the damper covers the entire rotor and stator to fully dampen the sound output. That is really a cool setup. Interesting ...
