Re: New Years Model 2 Air raid siren

Sounds like it's running pretty good! Yes sir! Runs like a champ, and has great brushes/bearings. Im buying a new leg and a housing for it. The only problem with it was it would not run when I first got it because the rings around the brushes that supply power were SUPER loose and were off the brus...

Re: Salina, Kansas replacing their Thunderbolts

I looked through the document for info about the old sirens. We will probably have to wait until the bid has been accepted to find out what exactly is going to happen with them. If Blue Valley gets it, kiss every single one of them goodbye.

Re: Finally releasing to the public...Oklahoma Statewide Map

Vinita has been a hard town to track down since they have (or had) very limited street view. Apparently they have 9 sirens. I read somewhere that they're getting 3 or 4 new ones to replace the old system.

Re: Salina, Kansas replacing their Thunderbolts

I think this has been talked about before recently. I'm still interested in obtaining at least one.

Re: Lowest mounted Siren in US

Yeah that's the lowest one, it's a lot shorter looking in person. I've wanted to record it but didn't think airport security would take that too well.

Re: Finally releasing to the public...Oklahoma Statewide Map

Good find on the Eclipse, I never knew the streetview was updated there. Also, the Erick you hear is probably an STH-10.

Re: Need help on wiring my Model 2

I can see where the parents are coming from. The siren technically wasn't made to operate without controls, even though it can. The controls make it safer to use if a fault were to occur. Instead of frying the entire house, it would just trip a relay or blow a fuse on the controls.

Re: Need help on wiring my Model 2

Your 240V into the motor starter will go to L1 and L2 on that schematic. Make sure you use a ground as well.
