Re: Whitehall, MI "Lowbolt" 1003

It does a little bit...but for maximum hearing protection you should wear Noies canceling headphones.

Whitehall, MI "Lowbolt" 1003

As promised, here is the video of the 1003 I posted in the lowest mounted sirens thread. Decided to include the behind the scenes just to show how low this thing really is. Yes, I should have worn muffs, as the fro does not provide as much protection as I thought it would.

Re: Lowest mounted Siren in US

Hey Notre.Dame, do you have this video on YouTube by chance? I really want to watch it! Not yet. I'm currently in the process of uploading something much...longer. Some of you may know what I'm referring to. If not, you'll find out soon enough! That Thunderbolt just goes to show that they lo...

Whitehall, MI. Water tower on east side of High School.

Yes, it's active. Yes, I got a video. Yes, it's loud. No, still can't hear you. Could you repeat that? :P

Re: Why do you guys hate 2001's so much?!?

We've gone through like 8 directors in 5 years. The issue is that they switched the maintenance contract to a local mom-and-pop electric shop. For years Braniff has maintained the system and they did a fantastic job. Now Koontz Wagner (the local company) apparently doesn't know that battery chargers...

Calumet City, IL 2001-SRN

This SRN is located at the St. Helen of the Blessed Shroud Orphanage in Calumet City Illinois. Just kidding, it's located in a parking lot near River Oaks Drive and Wentworth Avenue. You got us into this parking lot pal, now you get us out! Sirens in Calumet City are tested every Tuesday at 10:30 AM...

The 2001 that you passed was probably in Spring Grove who actually tests at 10:30.

Chicago, IL MOD 3012 - Grant Park

I finally decided to record something downtown. This is the Grant Park 3012. You can hear a ton of other sirens start up including the 2001 that's only a block north of this.

Re: City of Chicago Installs MOD II's at O'Hare Airport

As of today the "old" 6024 has been removed. Can't say I'm surprised with the new 8032 on the other side of the parking lot. A bit of wishful thinking on my part, perhaps it will be moved elsewhere in the city for better coverage. CoughNorthAvenueBeach. You would think there would be a sir...

There is another 1600 southeast of Hicks Road and Winnetka Avenue, in the back of the parking lot. There's also an RM-130 on Golf road at the pump station behind Portillos. And you know how much I like Portillos
