Re: Modulator 7028?

Yes. I’d have to agree with Model L. The reason why is most likely due to the max output or decibels. Four small “atlas” speakers added to already twenty-four would barely make a difference really in terms of “loudness” and effective coverage range. The 8032B would serve better purposes, as a more n...

Re: A Comprehensive History of the Austin-Travis County Siren System

I'm not sure if my 'bolt is a Houston or an Austin one. In fact part of it is from Fort Worth I believe also. I'll have to ask Jeff on that one. Also, happy birthday Jared!

Re: Massive ATI Replacement in Frisco, TX

Alright. I know this sounds ridiculous, but they did delay once again to this week, the weeks of the 7-11th of May and possibly into the next week. The vendor will be replacing everything. That includes the pole, solar panels, controls, and a new head (2910). The ATI’s are going into an auction, lat...

Re: Post your Mystery Sirens here.

What siren is this It could be one of these things: http://genave.com/product/alert-600/ It appears to look close in design, is there a chance there is a pic of the controls? As Mr. Goat said, it could also be a LAWS system. We’ve never actually gotten a good picture of a LAWS system. Maybe someone...

It is set, they are scheduled to be disconnected this Tuesday, March 20, 2018. The new Whelens will be installed on the same pole.

So Quanah does have more than two sirens..... The only one I've stumbled across is the one next to the water tower with the double setup deal. That SD-10 setup particularly intrigues me. Great photos!

Re: DFW Area Sirens?

Where is the Mod 6024 in Dallas?! I cannot find the site because I was in the middle of some real deep siren searching, but I did manage to snap a pic. The siren is at Dallas Baptist University. They also apparently share a 2001-SRN (siren #9) with Mesquite and own up to two additional SRNS. Again,...

Re: DFW Area Sirens?

Hi, welcome to the board. I am too one of the few siren nuts around the DFW metroplex! If you are looking for thunderbolts, unfortunately as Tyler said, Dallas' were inactive since 2011. The only supposedly active thunderbolts even close to Dallas are the Valley View bolt and the Bonham bolt. DFW ha...

Re: Whelen 4008 - Fire Station #8 - Plano, TX

Bumpitty Bump Bump Bump! I have some news concerning these sirens, along with the other remaining 4008s. I haven't been able to contact the new radio shop manager (Curlie Matthews) but it appears they have decided not to, or at least postponed the siren replacement. This siren was supposed to be rep...

The Colony, TX Update: Attack=Ineffective?

If you saw my video: https://youtu.be/4yObixV4KqQ Then you may have the question. Why exactly did they set these off? Answer: The Colony has done some major upgrades to the system. To ensure the system will work, they have a new testing schedule: 1st Wednesday at 12pm 90 seconds in "Alert"...
