Re: Another E-57 siren in California?

I've been in that area once; thought the E-57 was a work-light for the pump enclosure

There's still the one at the tank farm in Compton about two blocks south of the 91 freeway on Wilmington Ave. An incomplete unit (no engine) is on top of the former Firestone tire and rubber plant in South Gate. If you pay a visit to the American Military Museum on Rosemead Blvd just north of the 60...

I remember seeing a closeup of that (or another Thunderbolt with a similar setup) on Eric's site if I remember correctly.

It has some red and green lights on top.

It's a "Y" wound motor and already set up for a 208/230vac 3 phase source. Here's a diagram that you can connect the dots on but since you have a 9-lead motor; 10, 11, and 12 in the middle of the Y are all already connected together internally. http://www.tpub.com/ceb/11038_files/image640....

There was the omnidirectional 8-square horned siren designed by a Southern California Edison engineer (some refer to it as a "Toshiba" siren) which, as far as I know, were only used in San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station's community alert siren system from the late 80's to 2005 when they...

What you have is a NEMA TT-30 adapter (Travel Trailer-30 amp 120 volt plug) to a regular NEMA 5-15 (Standard 15 amp 120 volt plug) Often, the Travel Trailer TT-30 outlets are confused with the similar looking NEMA 10-30 ( 240 volt 30 amp electric clothes dryer outlet) that were used until 1996. Note...

San Clemente's SONGS community alert system does the double-activation as well.

Sirens in Montebello (and maybe another gas-driven T-bolt)

Last weekend, I was with a buddy of mine from church and we were headed to the Lowes in Pico Rivera (the only one within 10 miles of his place in South Pasadena). On the way, we passed through a small section of Montebello and as we went through the intersection of E. Washington Blvd and S. Greenwoo...

The "Wilmington" tank farm Chrysler is actually in Compton. I believe it got it's name from the fact that Wilmington Ave runs past it. It's just a few blocks south of the 91 off the Wilmington Ave Exit. Two nearby addresses for your GPS 18409 S Broadwick St Compton, CA 90220 and/or 2197 E ...
