for my Model 3 I just used a generic contactor in an old enclosure that came with it and works just fine.

Well I have it humming at the correct pitch but it struggled a little under load (blocking the air flow) hopefully this can be corrected with further tuning of the old pig Kohler.

I am going to try tuning the carburetor, it seems to make good power but under load is where the true test will be... I'll get back to you all with what I find after that. If that doesn't work out then this project will end up on the backburner until a bigger motor pops up.

it does wind up pretty well but doesn't seem to hit the same tune as those in videos with electric powered blowers. Image Image

When the motor was taken apart to do the commutator you may have offset the brush holder. repulsion motors are picky where the brushes set so if the ring they are held on by was moved, that can screw up the motor. If you spin the ring around enough you can make it turn another direction or just flat...

Adjusting the brush retainer worked, there's alot of arching though. I am going to have the commutator turned as it is in rough shape.
