The only thing I find wrong with the history is they left out 1 thing. They became Federal Enterprises in 1950 and in 1958 became sign & signal. The Type 7 siren I have cleary says Federal Enterprises on it and was purchesed from Federal around 1952

Fire departments on L.I. have anywhere from 3 to 10 sirens per district depending on population and also many have horns thrown into the mix as well. They all sound at the same time. Here is a good example of Northport FD on a fire call.. Model2, Model 5, 2T22, Screamer and diaphone. http://brettsw...

Thats a Federal 7 1/2 HP motor... I know it because the siren was moved to that location alone the expressway from a residential area 2 years ago... it's a Jericho FD siren..This one to be exact>>>!

CD stickers

Hey does anyone know where I can get some stickers with the classic CD logo on it? ( outdoor weather resistant stickers) I have a 5TT in fresh CD yellow and would like to add some CD stickers to it like the way it should be for that model =)

One of the WP recordings came from a guy named Ben because it's a 5 & 5T which is exactely what Williston Park sounds like as you can hear from the 2nd recording. Way back when Ben had no problem with this. So others should stop making such a big deal out of it. If Ben does not want it there any...

Does anyone really care? If you guys are so fanatically worried about what pictures and recordings might or might not be real then I would suggest acquiring another hobby or something. Don't knock yourselves out over this....

Sireno made 3,5 and 7 HP motors. but they are in their own class of siren just like the HOR sirens. This Sireno 5 HP rotor is the same size as a Federal Model 3 rotor ( I can measure them later).. The Federal 5 and 7's rotors are a bit bigger with 12 ports and are louder I would assume..

QuickSmith you are wrong. Farmingdale's district is 1 square mile big with 1 station. You can hear all the sirens and the diaphone at the same time from any point in town unless you are right under 1 of them. All of the pictures on the LIFA site are real.
