Unless those were hit by lightning and are completely unusable, that is a huge waste of money...

Re: Texas Siren Testing

I recommend going to Greenville, they have a hurricane and they test on the first Wednesday. Other than that, Whitehouse in East Texas has a few unknown electronics that they test on the first Tuesday. Neither of the Greenville Hurricane 130s are still in use. The old system of Hurricanes and P-10/...

Re: Houston, TX Thunderbolts

Well that's unfortunate. I figured this would be the last of them to come down due to the difficulty of removal, but wasn't expecting them to demo the building. Not that there was any chance of it being saved anyways. I made a good effort at contacting the city and HISD about it. I couldn't get so m...

Re: Alertronic Siren Loactions

This thing is/was in Denison Tx behind the main fire station. Don't know if it's still there. These pics are from 02-2002 Unfortunately, the Allertronic at the central fire station in Denison was replaced with a T-128 a few years ago after it was hit by lightning. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/...

Re: Alertronic Siren Loactions

That first one, it almost looks like it may be a rotating one. I thought so as well at first. However upon closer inspection it looks like it's hardwired from the bottom of the driver housing to that loop of cable right by the mounting bracket. If it did rotate, it would have to oscillate to avoid ...

Re: Alertronic Siren Loactions

I think a couple of the Garland Alertronics are still standing. They didn't get removed when the new Whelen system was installed. They're all gone (unless there were more than the three locations I know of). I was able to get pictures of two of them, but the third one was already removed when I vis...

Irving is replacing about two 612s per year with 508s according to their emergency manager.

Re: Pontiac IL Thunderbolt 1000T

I wonder if the chopper motor actually kicked the bucket, or if the overload tripped on the chopper motor starter and just needs to be manually reset.

Re: Hello. New to the board.

Welcome to the board! That's interesting, when you called Federal Signal's parts line did you refer to part #8247A020? I was able to order new brushes from them about three years ago. I'm surprised that they would discontinue that item completely as it appears the 2001-130 shares the same style brus...
