Pintsch-Bamag Test - Kassel, Germany

Sat Sep 23, 2017 5:07 pm

Gut!!! Wunderbar!!! Kassel is an interesting city in Germany, on account of their siren system. It originally consisted of 9 Pintsch-Bamag sirens, but over the course of time 8 of the units broke down and were replaced with Hörmann ECN-2400's. The old heads were used for parts to keep the existing sirens up and going, but eventually the parts were exhausted out. Their last PB failed last year for it's test, however some siren enthusiasts were able to get the siren up and going again. This is one of only two left in the country that is functional and still used and tested. In addition to that they also test in fast wail - "warning of the population" tone. This is the first time anyone has ever caught this particular model of siren running in this tone. The other one runs in the fire tone with a 12/12 timing for about a minute. Wish I could witness it. BTW they're rated at 125 dB at 100 feet.

Must've seen the video at the same time as you did. It is amazing to see that some guys actually sorted it out! Now if only they could reinstate the other Anlage 2 model sirens (since this one is the Anlage 2 model made by Pintsch Bamag)
