I found an article that at the Clark County Museum in Nevada which is the county Las Vegas is in, they say they will sound a historic air raid siren.

I hope they use something bigger than a 16gauge extension cord to fire up THE MOST POWERFUL SIREN IN THE WORLD!!!!

It would be a nice thing if we could do that down here, but I know that 911 would be flooded with calls even if we ran them in alert for 30 seconds.

Well Shawnee County got back to me and said, at the time they were considering it but were leaning toward a no. They then got back to me a couple hours after that and said it was a no. I imagine it has something to do with the credible risk of another attack this weekend. That's all this country needs...air raid sirens going off for a memorial and us being attacked again. In Israel, they sound the sirens on their version of our Memorial day, not on the anniversary of our largest attack on american soil. I think its kind of a good idea to sound the sirens once a year, not only as a memorial, but to remind Americans to not let their guard down...but I really don't think it should be on 9/11 it's self, simply because that day will always hold a heightened risk of attacks.

But it would be nice if something like this happened in America...

The sirens in Champaign county will be set off at noon on Sunday for one minute.

Good thing I found this topic. I just checked our local newspaper's website and what I just said above is what they posted online.

Ballston Spa, New York is definitely doing this (and maybe even all of Saratoga County) cause the police chief that visited my school today told me about it. We never get tornadoes up here. The siren here in downtown Ballston Spa is a Federal Signal Model 5 and is mostly used for firecalls (2 or 3 cycles of attack) so people won't really care or notice because the sirens are being ran in alert mode for about 30 seconds at the time that the first plane crashed.
What happened when Napoleon went to Mt. Olive? Popeye got pissed.
