Erick Siren In Steelville, MO

Tue Nov 15, 2011 8:18 am

A friend of mine was driving on State Route 8 through Steelville, Missouri, on her way to visit a few friends that she went to high school with. She spotted a very strange siren on a pole across the street from the Hutson Funeral Home, on West Euclid Street. On Google Earth it looks like an Erick Siren to me. Anyone care to confirm?

Sincerely yours,

Ron W.

That actually appears to be a Darley 3V8, but for some reason it looks awful small up on that pole. Anyone ever heard of Darley also producing a "2V8" based on the same construction as the 3V8? If so, that may be what this is instead, but otherwise it looks to be a 3V8.

Here's the street view image for anyone else interested: http://g.co/maps/8vjk9

Just for reference, this is what it appears to be (Darley 3V8):

Yes Darley made a 2V8. It was pretty much a Sterling 2v8.

I live by one which is used by the Westwood Station (30) (Lower Yoder Twp,) but I haven't heard it in a While cause they don't set it off with the actual Lower Yoder Station (23) anymore.
Radio Receivers: BCD996P2(Pri) and BCD325P2(Sec.) I am 33 and still a Woody Woodpecker fan and Poke fan too.

Does anyone else notice the Civil War re-enactment banner?
