Now *This* Is How A Sentry 40v2t is *Supposed* To Rev Up...

Sat Mar 02, 2013 12:08 am

With many thanks to YouTube forumer Gramcracker115 who recorded this, plus another one of the same siren from closer range.

From Quincy, Illinois.

Attack @ 3 cycles starts at 10 seconds in sharp, followed by a approx. 25 second alert blast at about 1:12 in.

The subtle echo is killer, too.

Sounds like there are at least two of them, plus another lower pitched siren, probably another Sentry. Great ambiance!

I listened very carefully to it; and I concluded FWIW that what's heard is the delayed reverb from the siren itself, esp. the lower and louder tone.

I perceive that these delays can last maybe up to a half second, depending on the usual battery of weather and locational circumstances.

Of course, my 2?.

To be sure, all of those look like 40V2t's (15's and 20's look the same, whereas the 10's have the projectors with alternating length).

There has to be at least one other 40 in that mix; and it's most likely the one I called an echo. I believe the siren recorded in this post is the one located by the town water tower, since the poster made his close-range recording there.
