One thing I can't figure out is why did they use Eclipses and 508's? Why not just one or the other? Weird topography?

I took a friend to the NWS Storm Spotter class yesterday in W. Nashville and the had a lady from the OEM speak before the class and she said the siren installations are now complete.

I asked her if in the future if Davidson County is ever going to consider the activating the sirens in the polygon or zones format instead of setting them off for the whole county and she said they are considering it in the budget for the software and there has been serious talks about it.

I wonder what happened to those "Terrible Investments". If WSS installed the 508's and Eclipse's, his yard probably has ATI's in it now.

I think it may have something to do with population density in certain areas.

I know that some of the 508s are located at large parks. Percy Warner, Edwin Warner, & Cane Ridge are all large parks. Percy Warner has a golf course; one(or maybe both) of the Warner Parks has a number of picnic shelters. They both have hiking trails. A lot of area for one siren to cover, so that's probably why 508s are there.

The 508s I've seen at schools(Bellevue Middle & Gower Elementary) are in areas whose population may not be as dense as others.

That's exactly why. Nashville is a very hilly city, especially as you go south and east of the Cumberland river downtown.
Still close enough to a Fed Sig 550AT to drive out on test day: First Friday in May - 7PM!

I saw 5 508s on our way to pigeon forge and I also saw the bumble out there.
My knowledge excels on the Federal Thunderbolt siren and SiraTone EOWS sirens. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I found 2 more of the new Nashville sirens this morning.

Paragon Mills Park has an Eclipse, while a 508 is located at Antioch High School. I had suspected the AHS siren would be a 508 as the previous ATI was a HPSS 32. Had hoped to get a photo of it. However, the horn was pointed so that the sun was shining directly on it and all I could see was a shiny circle.

I saw a new one (508) yesterday as well when I was in Madison just off the north exit for the Rivergate Mall. In a very good spot as that is a very busy area and has a ton of business flow in that spot.

Do you by chance have the address or intersection of this siren? I'll be driving down through Nashville soon.
