Re: Lion King Signal newest copys

I'd say that the Eclipse knockoff is one they haven't actually built yet, either. I'm pretty sure that it's a photo of an Eclipse that they photoshopped their logo onto--the logo is too "flat" to actually be on the cone there.

BTW, CLM 10 12, the position of the "Commins" engine is pretty much the same as on the actual Chrysler Air Raid Siren and the earlier Chrysler-Bell Victory Siren; both of them used "flat" choppers like in siren whistles instead of using a conventional peripheral-port chopper. (That said, you could *still* use that arrangement with a peripheral-port chopper by using a T-128ish or 2001ish horn with a horizontal rotor, or with a vertical rotor by using a universal joint on the driveshaft.)

Personally, I find it amusing that the Defender siren puts out 132dB@100 feet despite being a 220hp motor, when the Chrysler put out 6dB more on 40hp LESS. (Technically, they can legally claim it as the "most powerful" siren in the world, so long as they don't call it the "loudest," because that's the most powerful chopper motor ever...)

They won't, and they can't. Over in China, there are no such thing as Copyright laws. Lion reverse-engineers FS products, modifies them slightly (in some cases), slaps their logo on it and take full claim of their creation, because they're allowed to. Had they been an American company, FS would be hot on their tails.

Their electronic siren went through a bit of hell putting out that audio. The distortion in that  Reminds me of San Fran's ATsI, in fact if I'm not mistaken those speakers they are using look like the same ones ATI uses.

I would say 10/11, being that they are probably 50Hz instead of 60Hz. Motors probably run at 2900 RPM.

Haha! Coming to a Wal*Mart near you, Lion King sirens! China is trying to be this global super power. China can't manufacture a decent product. Apparently they can't design their own either. China junk!

I would laugh if they made a third Cars and they had that siren in the movie.

I wonder why they are copying the designs of US sirens?

In Chinese culture, copying is considered a sign of respect. I was amazed to find out that Black Cat firecrackers (which are made in China) had dozens of knock-off brands that sounded similar (Black Bat, Black Widow, etc) in past decades due to the fact that Black Cat is such a successful brand for fireworks. Also, as others mentioned, no R&D costs for Lion King, plus the ability to undercut Federal Signal's market by making a similar siren cheaper.
