Wed Jun 25, 2014 7:44 pm

I'm Wondering if towns in Michigan have any ACA P-50s. I would like to know.
My other ride is a 1950 Chrysler-Bell Victory siren.

No. None at all. I can't even think of any Penetrators at all in Michigan.

Actually, there are a couple penetrators in Michigan, In Midland. (or there were about 8 years ago) Lord knows if I could ever find them again, but I know one was near the county fair grounds. The other one was in the business district. Midland itself has 13 sirens, 27 in the county total as of 2006.

EDIT: Never mind, I lied, they are RM-130's

They technically are Penetrators, I have heard them be called "PN20".

Duh. Forgot about Midland... I know of a few locations since my GF's Roommate up at MSU was telling me about the sirens where she lives in Midland.

There's an incomplete nuclear power plant very close to Midland (ran into some issues during construction that made completion economically prohibitive). FEMA/NRC requiring nuke plants to have sirens probably spurred some siren development back in the 80s, but severe weather is obviously their use now.

I am also certain there is/was a P-50 somewhere in west Michigan, but I cant for the life of me remember where. I saw it riding around with my grandmother on her delivery route. Of course, this was 12 years or more ago, as she's been retired for many years.

I have heard that there are not many ACA/ASC sirens at all in Michigan.
