Should I rally outside the Middleburg VFD for this reason?

Tue Sep 23, 2014 1:07 am

Their Allertor was disconnected and removed several years ago. I miss that siren terribly, as do some other residents of that area. They were supposed to get a new siren after renovations but their money became low. Nobody knows what happened to the siren (which had been in very poor condition for the past 4-5 years after loosing its horn in an ice storm) after the renovations, but I hope they can locate it and save it, maybe even put it back into service for various purposes. There is another Allertor in nearby Philomont that is still used for fire calls, but I want Middleburg to either bring theirs back or get a new siren. Maybe they can use it for tornado warnings instead of fire calls. Does this sound like a good idea for a sign to put outside there?

BRING BACK THE SIREN! THE TOWN MISSES IT!

If not, what can I put on the sign? Please help me, and maybe it will be a victory for me.

I only approved this post so that everyone here can understand what we mods/admins have to deal with running the board.

I just miss the siren. It is not senseless. Some people want help with things like this.

Honestly, if the siren was shot, who cares?

Is that a serious question?

If you want to make yourself look like a complete idiot in front of a fire station in some town or the whole state of Virginia and tarnish our reputation even more, go right ahead.

Yeah, I think this guy needs a looong break from this board.

Please don't rally. You'll just make the entire siren community look bad.

I'm with Cory.

I've heard tequila makes you forget your woes pretty quickly.

Nope, that sounds like a horrible idea. First of all, you would probably get cited for trespassing and destruction of property, and second of all, you would probably get run out of town because you are an idiot!
