The winner of FSMC #4 is...
coppercarl
Congratulations on winning! His map was chosen due to the fact that he covered the county efficiently. He used loud, lower toned, battery backup sirens, and he used rotational sirens for areas with more population.

The other maps were good as well. anepstad conjured another great Federal Signal system, with even the smallest towns getting sirens. JMAN12345610 made a very cool system, with a mixture of Modulator and EOWS sirens. It was also a very organized system.

Anyways, the next post will contain details about FSMC #5.

FSMC #5
For this FSMC we will be focusing on Clay County, TN. The largest town is Celina. There are also some smaller sized areas around Dale Hollow Lake. I feel like this county wouldn't need a lot of sirens, but I'll leave that up to you to decide!

This FSMC starts at 12:10 PM EDT and ends at 10:00 PM EDT today.

Ok, I gave this one a shot. I went with a Nashville-esque system of Federal Signal Eclipse 8s and Federal Signal 508s. I used the Eclipse 8s in the bigger cities where the population is dense and the 508s where the population is more spread out.

https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/edit? ... KipRiKYUQc

Out of the 8 sirens total:
Sirens 1, 2, and 4 are used to cover Celina city proper. #1, an Eclipse 8, is at the city center and covers downtown. #2 and #4, the 508s, are positioned at the far city limits of Celina to ensure the entire city's population has coverage. In addition, #2 covers Cave Springs, the Dale Hollow Dam Campground, and the Dale Hollow Marina.

Siren 3, an Eclipse 8, is positioned at Hermatige Springs High School in the western portion of Clay County to provide coverage for the town of Hermatige Springs.

Sirens 5, 7, and 8, all 508s, provide coverage for the campgrounds around Dale Hollow Lake. Siren #5 covers Holly Creek Resort and Marina in addition to some of the nearby residences. Siren #7 covers the Horse Creek Dock & Resort and nearby residences and businesses. Siren #8 covers the Willow Grove Recreation Area, which includes a campground and a marina, in addition to a quite few residences in the area.

Siren 6, a 508, covers the towns of Moss and Midway, a little closer to Moss since it has a larger population.

I went on a limb here and went ASC. System is small, and consists of:
*All ASC T-135's are the current version*
1 T-135 on top of a hill in the center of Celina
1 T-135 west of Celina at the school
1 T-135 south of Celina near some residences
1 T-135 east of Celina by the lake/recreational area
1 T-135 on top of a hill in Fairview
1 T-135 by the Moss post office
2 T-135's West of Moss to provide coverage to the rural residences
1 T-135 at the Hermitage Springs School
1 T-135 SE of Celina
1 T-135 N of Celina
3 T-121's To cover the various campgrounds and recreational areas north of Fairview

1 E-Class EC8 at the Dale Hollow Dam, 2 Speakers pointing Directly West, 2 Speakers pointing SW
1 E-Class EC12 at the west city limits of Celena, 2 speakers pointing NW, NE, SE, SW

T-135's/T-121's used for severe weather and other emergencies
Signals: Alert, Attack
Tornado Warning: Attack
Severe Thunderstorm Warning: Alert

E-Classes used for Dam Failure Emergency
Signals: Hazard (Whoop)

The winner of FSMC #5 is...
JMAN12345610

Congratulations! His map was picked for a few reasons. First of all, the T-135's and T-121's would do a great job reverberating off of the hills and mountains that cover the area. The other reason is because of the dam failure system. I thought that was a cool addition, and it landed JMAN a win.

The other maps were good as well, and they were both Federal Systems, one with 508's and Eclipse 8's, the other with Equinoxes, Eclipse 8's, Modulators, and 508's.

FSMC will be up some time tomorrow!

Yay! Thank you! This smaller county I was easier to work with unlike boone county. That one was a lot harder.

FSMC #6

Alright, sorry I haven't been able to post another one of these in a while, school recently started and things are a bit stressful. Anywho, here's the challenge.

Briefing:
So, in theme of the fires in the western states, this challenge will focus on Trinity County, California! This county is currently facing deadly and large forest fires. Your job is to devise a warning system to alert the residents of the county of a growing or approaching forest fire. I figured this one might be interesting.

THis FSMC starts at 4:45 PM EDT today, and ends at 5:00 PM EDT tomorrow (8/20/15).
