after about 16 years of our SRN's running just off of DC, I was able to nab this SRN on Pine Road South of US-20 which is the 2nd county siren to have a rectifier installed, the other in North Liberty. Otherwise typical St Joseph county siren test. and Noie is gonna point it out but yes Bell Tower SRNB ever since that was installed in 2007 did have a rectifier.

Bill is wrong, as always. The first siren to have a rectifier was the Bell Tower SRNB that was installed in 2007.

Anyways there has been a little bit of a debacle as to whether this thing is actually running off the rectifier or not. I would expect the pitch to jump at least a LITTLE bit, not necessarily Hammond style into the 800hz range but at least so it's punchy. Which this was not. Still sounds like its running off sickly cold batteries.
