Welp,Dearborn County had a major failure this morning. Most of their sirens failed to activate during the tornado warning and it has made the news. This doesn't surprise me as I have seen so many of their sirens fail or not function properly.
Moore's Hill- Dead
Wilmington and Aurora 2001DCs- Dead
Bright 612- Blown Drivers
Dillsboro 3016- Failure to Rotate
Not to mention the service that their provider gives them is less than quality. The EMA has told me they've reported many of these issues to their service provider and obviously they haven't been addressed. . This time it appears that their Commander is failing or having a "power issue'. Either way, these failures and blunders are just not acceptable in my eyes and I really hope that this is a wake up call to look into some higher quality options before a tornado injures or kills anyone. I feel bad for the EMA, they're being ripped off by paying 30,000 for a 2001 and getting such secondhand service. The taxpayers are paying for these systems and the EMA is having this system in good faith, it pains me to see both groups overpaying and being ripped off.
